5 Things That Are Helping Me Reach My Goals

1. Finding a community of people who "get it."

Some dreams take years and years in the making and trying to do it alone almost seems impossible. Find a strong friend, or group of friends, who can encourage you along the way. Not sure where to find them? Look on Facebook Groups, reach out to people doing similar things on Instagram. Social media can get a bad wrap for being a highlight reel, but I've found that more people are willing to ban together than you think!

2. Find a routine that works for me.

Keep in mind this may change with seasons of your life. There was a time that I was getting up at 5 am every morning and writing before work. Now, I get up at 5:30 and don't start on my side hustle until after my day job.

3.  Learn to include rest in my routine.

This one can be so hard to find a groove in. I go from workaholic mode to resting so hard that I forget I even have a side hustle. The point is to try different things out for you and find what works. Maybe that's one day a week you do something just for you. Maybe it's every morning. Find what fits your needs and schedule and go with it until the ship needs readjusting and do the same.

4. Choosing my "why" over results.

The thing about chasing goals is that sometimes they're going to be ten, fifteen, twenty years in the making. It make take a super long time until you see results but it's not a reason to give up. I believe the number one reason people give up is because they think it isn't happening as quickly as they want it to. Each day find time to get back into that headspace of why you're doing this.

5. Trusting in God for the next step.

I believe that God designed each person with a gift and talent to share with the world. I like to think of it as His way of showing us what an incredible creator He is. You may be like me and know where you're at and know where you're going, but have no clue what the next step is. Trusting in God means not having to know every step before you take the first one He gives you.
